Monthly Projects: August 2026
Not much done this month as I've been sick the past week. Also, I'm getting back in the writing groove so I've been focusing more on that than web weaving.
Web Weaving (earliest -> latest)
- Tumblr blogs export ft. TumblBee
- I shared this tool over on Pillowfort a while back but I hadn't used it till now. It took some tries to understand how the tool worked and a moot with an itchio account to share about some bugs we encountered with the developer but I managed to export most of my blogs! Still having some trouble with my main blog which isn't really that big. Oh well, I'll get this done another day.
- OC personal community on Dreamwidth
- Another little project inspired by a moot. I've been struggling with having a place to take notes about my OCs that is easily searchable and organized. A moot shared her idea of making a community on DW where only she could post that is focused on her OCs. I really liked that idea as I'm comfortable with using Dreamwidth by now. Full introductory post on my journal.
- Looking over my Tumblr sideblogs was such a good idea to do this month because I found TONS of posts to add to this community. I crossposted all the posts related to my OCs when I was roleplaying The Arcana game.
- I don't like the layout I'm using so I'm thinking of taking part in Small Web September and remake it into something I like.
- Fandom yapping personal community on Dreamwidth
- Similarly, I made a separate community for fannish yapping. Y'know, all those spoilery thoughts I wanted to write in my microblog but found that I wanted more control over.

This month was a lot of digital journaling in preparation for some fandom events. I also wrote two posts for my 18+ blog. Very happy 'bout that. Some of these posts were written for archival purposes.
- Personal Communities on Dreamwidth
- an unfinished post summarizing some findings in how to create personal communities on Dreamwidth. It's unfinished because I would to link to some guides about the topics written by other people.

- Draft of a character profile for a new OC.

- I uhhh wrote a vent fic that I don't feel like linking. Interested parties will have to do the work to find it in my fic archives. Actually I wrote it at the end of July but I'm just now posting it on AO3 and editing it.
Community
- Multifandom Internalized Queerphobia Exchange (Dreamwdith, AO3 Collection)
- A moot decided to host a fandom event focused on internalized queerphobia. I jumped on it SO fast.
- This is also the first time I am taking part in a multifandom event (wild) as I tend to stick with close-knit small fandoms on smaller sites. This is why I decided to archive stuff like my nominations, requests, and offers; and I took the chance to write an exchange letter for the first time ever. I'm positive all this archival work will be useful for any future event as it's all pretty reusable, hooray!

- I uhhh technically signed up and all but it seems it was deleted so guess I won't be taking part in it! Honestly I was all little nervous as both events overlapped so it's no sweat off my back.
- Userbox requests (log-in users only)
- Technically not something I did but I was able to donate to Pillowfort and I wanted to take part in a donation drive so I requested a couple of userboxes for my OC! Writing the requests took a while. This really was the form-filling month.
- Spotify Alternatives for Playlist Embeds
- One of these two Pillowfort community posts I wrote. Not many responses but I am thinking of hosting the audio files for my OC playlists instead of using something like a Spotify embed.
- Goggle Jumpscare
- Second of Pillowfort community posts. Basically, I asked other Pillowforters if they had noticed some Goggle apps on their Android phones installed without their consent. Seems quite a few did. I'm really glad I found the courage to make this post! The title isn't very descriptive because I was scared shitless at the moment. I would like to gather more data so if you have a Pillowfort account, please let me know if you found these apps on your phone! The post is visible without an account and has a bunch of links about the apps.
- Dreamwidth paid account time.
- Okay I'm kind of showing off at this point but I really wanted a reminder that I have a paid Dreamwidth account once again. I already did a bit of an analysis for the benefits and my favorite features so there was no second thoughts about this. I LOVE DREAMWIDTH!!!
I CANNOT believe we are past the mid-year point. September is going to have a lot of fic writing (plus some web weaving) and October as well.
