Sakurajima.org: Online Safe Spaces for Japanese Media/Culture Fans
As someone of you guys may be looking into online spaces that are welcoming for human artists and NSFW art, I want to shoutout the people at Sakurajima dot org.
I found them when I was looking into Mastodon servers and I current hold an account with them. I also briefly had an account on their Bluesky PDS but I digress.
Quick Facts
- Member of the Mastodon Server Covenant. This means they won't shut down without ample warning, create backups often, and has a strong stance against hate speech and extremist ideologies.
- Formed in 2021, expanding services from their initial Mastodon server.
- Friends with blorbo.social and fandom.ink servers.
- Doesn't connect with Threads
- Strong and fast acting moderation.
- Left-leaning (pro-LBGT+, pro-NSFW art)
Services
- Fediverse (Mastodon): sakurajima.moe
- Fediverse (Misskey): sakurajima.social
- Forum: forums.sakurajima.org
- Fluxer (Discord alt): Yurigaoka.tokyo
- Bluesky PDS: sakurasora.social
- WordPress hosting: yoshino.garden

Similar fandom focused Fediverse servers I reccommend are fandom.ink and blorbo.social. For a list of Fediverse servers, check out Wiki Scum's Fediverse entry.
